Introduction:
Interact Club of St. Xavier’s School Jawalakhel organized its dog feeding ceremony on 23rd October 2022 to celebrate the being of dogs. This campaign aimed to deepen the bond between dogs and humans. This campaign bonded the importance of dogs in the everyday life of humans. The reduction of stress, anxiety, depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness and even improve cardiovascular health is the result of having a dog with an individual. Hence, this campaign has been an embarking step towards the extensive encouragement for loving and taking care of dogs.
Objectives:
To work for a better tomorrow in the presence of our friend-like creature; dogs. It helped interactors of the club to explore the opportunities of co-work and mutual thoughts for community and club development along with promoting humanity among the community and become the example of good.
Project summary:
The event had two prior preparation meetings in school. It was concluded that the event was going to take place in two groups in two different areas. Group 1: (Basantapur, Asan, New Road) and Group 2: (Patan Durbar, Lagankhel, UN Park). The campaign started at 7 am and ended at 10 am. Interactors allocated in Group 1 gathered in front of Juddha Shumsher’s statue and Group 2 gathered in Krishna Mandir. The event was successful as dogs were fed with biscuits. Everybody who came to the event went home happy. On the occasision of Kukur Tihar, interactors of Interact Club of St. Xavier’s School Jawalakhel felt like they did at least a thing that could help in the change of the mentality of people in the community regarding stray dogs.
