The Interact club of Ullens IBDP duly appreciates the efforts of Baby Life Home and the members worked their hardest to do their part in helping secure the basic rights such as education, health care and shelter for the rescued children.
Objectives:
Raise fund to help HIV infected kids.
Project Summary:
The 2-day tournament had the group stages on the first day and ended on the second with the elimination playoffs and the closing ceremony. The finalists of the event were Camelia college and Ullens interact club. The match was intense with both teams battling for the Rs. 40,000 cash prizes plus daraz vouchers, medals, trophy and certificates for the 1st place team and Rs. 15,000 cash and daraz vouchers and similar honors for the runner ups. The winning team however fortunately would be the Ullens interact team. The team pledged 25% of their winnings to the charity as good will and showing trust in their project. With the tournament concluding, the closing ceremony was taken in place with the recognition of the chief guest of the event being the president of Lalitpur district sports development committee, Binod Maharjan.
The futsal tournament however was more than just that, more than a futsal tournament. The sponsors had set up shop in the surroundings of the futsal, distributing vouchers and selling food. Only possibly through the collaboration and cooperativeness of the organizing team and the vendors.
Conclusion:
Although, it must be said, being the first futsal tournament organized by the Ullens IBDP interact club, challenges in gathering sponsors for such an event, inviting teams and creating guidelines for teams to follow were seen. However, the organizing committee did their best to cover their inexperience, working with the futsal owners themselves who had knowledge in doing so, learning lessons on collaboration and management along the way. The event was a tremendous success, achieving the fundraising target and in being proudly able to say it was done successfully without major alterations or conflicts.
