accompanied by cordial competition between same age group, In addition
our program was service oriented and it was conducted with the aid of
sponsorship form Rotary Clubs as well as Schools and there was no specific
event-chair for our program.
Objectives:
1. To develop public speaking skills
2. To develop communicative skills accompanied by cordial
competition between same age group
Project summary:
The entire event was a one-day program held on 20th August at Balodaya
English Boarding School starting from 10 AM, the event was about Eloquence
Competition in which participants were given certain topics to research
about and present it in the best way possible to the judges and the audiences
as well as convey their opinion on the topic given sharing some problems and
solution for the given topics while considering all the variables for the topic ,
for our event three topics were given beforehand they were:
1. Role of Nepal to maintain International Peace
2. Traditional and Modern Agriculture System
3. Importance of Information and Communication Technology
The topic was lucky drew by the judges and the topic “Traditional and
Modern Agriculture System” was selected, each speaker had a time limit of
5 min and would get a warning whistle at 4 min to conclude and summarize
their speech, The judges would mark the participant based on various factors
to a total of (—-marking—-) and the participants who scored the highest
based on the markings were honored with the 1st ,2nd & 3rd position,
Certificate and Cash prize of Rs.5000, Rs.3000rs and Rs.2000 flowingly, by
conducting this competition the students were able to hone their
researching, speaking, thinking and presentation skills the selection for the
position holder was a bit hard as “33” students from 19 schools who
participated in this event and the position holders were as follows:
1) Prasun Adhikari from GBS
2) Shreya Tamang from saint Mary’s school
3) Tridevi Shreshta from Sainik School

Feedbacks of attendees:
This event was made successful with the help of each
volunteer and Participant (Organizers)
The Ideas and the knowledge demonstrated during the event
was praise worthy, some of the ideas could even be added to
the constitution (Judges)
It was a very fun and learning experience for us and the mini
GK quiz during the evaluation was very interactive and
knowledgeable (Participant)
The Environment was friendly for all the students and they got
to compete with others from various schools which helped in
their growth (Teacher/Guardian)
Conclusion:
The overall result of the event was a success and many participant as well as organizers enjoyed the event although it could’ve been made much more
better by having more efficient time management as well as the number of
schools which participated were higher than our expectation which resulted
in a more fierce competitiveness between students, using very unique public
speaking techniques and strategies, our main goal for organizing this event
was to have the students experience competition outside of their own school
with their same age group the benefits of this was fellowship between
students from various schools from sharing their ideas to competing with
each other while agreeing, disagreeing and further going in depth of the
knowledge of the topic which they presented about, these sorts of programs
encourage students to showcase their thinking pattern with others of their
age group and make progress while competing.
