Description
Introduction:
Safe and clean water and sanitation is very crucial to human health and well being.
Access to clean drinking water and sanitation is a fundamental human right. Project: Jal is a project introduced jointly by Interact Club of Chelsea International Academy and Co-host club Interact Club of Kathmandu on the first day of Interact week for the theme Water and Sanitation.
This project provided both the water filtration supplies and supplies needed for sanitation to Srijansil Children Welfare as we donated water filters as well as dish washing and hand washing soaps. It was an effort to ensure help the children access clean drinking water and improved sanitation.
Objectives:
-To provide knowledge among the children
-To make them realize importance of clean drinking water and proper sanitation
– To make them understand human health is above all
Project summary:
The event started with the interactors from ICCIA buying supplies for the project. All the interactors met at the meeting point and then went towards the venue. We went to the Children Welfare Center at 4:30 pm after all the kids had returned from school. Then we handed the supplies to the President of the Center, Mrs. Uma Devi Basnet. We then interacted with the children as well as had a little musical performance with them and concluded the event at 6:00 pm.
Feedbacks of attendees:
-They were very content to see us there. They further added we had set their mood for the day.
-They thanked us for letting them understand the true meaning of
having good sanitation and clean drinking water.
Conclusion:
The project was a huge success as we spread our knowledge about clean drinking water and sanitation. It was also better for us as a club as we connected with other clubs. Learning about their ideas and preparing for an event together taught every one of us the true value of teamwork. Lastly, We understood that it’s not the scale we work on but the difference we leave on people that matters.
