Introduction
Learning Fest is a virtual platform that offers a variety of workshops, sessions, and events aimed at empowering young individuals. Learning Fest is an annual virtual event aimed at providing educational and informative sessions to young individuals. It covers a diverse range of topics, including Model United Nations, Event Management, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, YouTube Content Creation, Innovation, Graphic Design, Literature, Journalism, Report Writing & Minute-Taking, and Politics. The event is designed to be accessible and informative for young individuals, providing them with opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills in various fields.
Event Preview
The Organizing Committee was determined to make this year’s Learning Fest 3.0 as spectacular as possible so that modern dynamic generation not just limited to Interactors, can acquire fresh knowledge and experiences. We as well decided that the event should be a platform not only for the Learners, but also for the Trainers, so we invited youth from the respective fields of the subject matter covered, such as Model United Nations, Event Management, Youth in Finance, Youth in Entrepreneurship, Youth in Leadership, YouTube-ing, Youth in Innovation, Youth in Graphic Design, Youth in Literature, Youth in Journalism, Report Writing & Minute-Taking, Youth in Politics. “Youth in Teaching, Youth in Learning” was the theme of the event’s third season, that took place from January 7th to January 12th. The 6-day event was designed to consist of two sessions per day, and the scheduling was ideal for both school-attending and working groups, allowing both the learners and the trainers to attend the event. In addition, we decided to present each participant a certificate of participation as well if they attend atleast one session.
Precisely 328 persons expressed interest in attending learning fest 3.0 by submitting the registration form. The form allowed attendees to choose their desired session based on their own areas of interest to attend. Zone: 5 of Interact
District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan had the most number of responses with 81, followed by Zone: 1 with 44 responses, Zone: 6 with 39 responses, Zone: 2 with 35 responses, Zone 3 with 20 responses, Zone 4 with 19 responses, Zone 7 with 13 responses, Zone 8 with 12 responses, and 65 responses were from non-interactors. Each sessions had more than 50 participants in it. With the data of form, 55% of the individuals attending were interested particular sessions only, with this the data and number of Certificated prepared shows that around 300 individuals had participated in the Learning Fest 3.0.
The first day started with opening ceremony where we had the presence of, District Interact Committee Chair: Rtn. Arjun Shrestha, District Interact Representative: Itr. Bipin Subedi. We also had invited District Governor: Rtn. Jitendra B. Rajbhandary and District Secretary: Rtn. Amit Giri of Rotary Interanational District 3292 Nepal and Bhutan but unfortunately due to some problems they were not able to attend the opening ceremony and express their regards but they blessed us with their post warm responses.
The EMCEE for the opening ceremony, 1st day and 2nd day session was Itr. Mingsoma Limbu, ZIR of Zone: 1 for Interact District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan. Itr. Subash Sharma Sapkota, President of Interact Club of New Road City Kathmandu moderated the session for Youth in Literature. Itr. Grace Rasaily, District IT Officer of Interact District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan handled most of the IT related work also moderating and hosting sessions similarly Itr. Kalpit Nepal too handled the IT aspect and hosting the sessions were Itr. Birendra Bikram, IT Head of Interact District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan guided few of the IT works.
Workshops were conducted by prominent personalities in their respective fields, with 1st Day by Itr. Safal Shrestha (MUN); ZIR of Zone: 8 for Interact District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan and Itr. Birendra Bikram (Graphic Designing); IT-head of Interact District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan, 2nd Day by Rtr. Prakriti Dhakal (Youth in Leadership); joint- District secretary of Rotary International District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan and Asmit Regmi (Youth in Literature); Novelist, poet and once’s Nepal’s youngest Novel Writer, 3rd Day by Binay Khadka (Youth in Entrepreneurship); CEO of Khalti also the Youngest CEO in FinTech of Nepal, and Shishir Babu Rijal (Youth in Innovation); 16th Executive Head, Robotics Club WRC, Nepal, 4th Day by Suprim Shrestha (Youth in Finance); Head of Portfolio Management in Muktinath Capital Limited and Bimala Bhandari (Youth in Journalism); President, Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kaski, 5th Day by Sunil Shahi (Event Management); Cofounder of Eventique Nepal, and Itr. District 3292, Nepal and Bhutan, the last i.e 6th Day by Sagar Dhakal (Youth in Politics); Hydropower Engineer; also contested the then-Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s House of Representatives candidacy in Dadeldhura, Dipesh Tripathi (YouTube-ing), founder of popular youtube channel: The Nepali Comment.
The event every aspect was under control but however due to personal issues of the guest speaker for Youth in Journalism, Bimala Bhandari, we had to cancel the session for which both the speaker and the Organizing Committee present their regret and apologize the participants.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Learning Fest 3.0 was a successful event that provided valuable learning opportunities for the youth. The Organizing Committee should be commended for their efforts in making this year’s event as spectacular as possible and providing a platform for both learners and trainers.
