Introduction:
On October 18,2022, Light the Light was a tribute seminar to remember the contributions made by “Satabdi Purush Satyamohan Josi” via Google Meet. Itr. Nischal Dahal served as the event’s chairperson. The event began at 7:30 p.m., and afterward, we lit a candle in his memory and for his contributions and accomplishments.
Objectives:
1.To give heartfelt condolence in the untimely demise of “Satabdi Purush Satyamohan”
2. To remember his contributions in the field of culture , history , literature etc .
3. To rise awareness among new generation about who he was , what he did , what’s his importance.
4. To give tribute , respect for his significance works .
Project summary:
The event started with few good words from the emcees, Itr. Sumana Bajracharya and Itr. Ira Sharma and after the national anthems of Nepal and Bhutan followed by Rotary anthem. Then after there was a welcome speech by the President, Itr. DDPTII NANI followed by the guest speakers, Rtr. Preeti Sitoula and Rtr. Delmalyn Hajal.
The emcees introduced the presenting clubs and the host club followed by a brief introduction of the host club from the Co-Event Chair, Itr. Sinchu Burtel. Immediately after, there was a short musical performance by Itr. Animesh Shrestha.
The starting of the presentation began while the attendees patiently and eagerly waited for it to begin. Interesting presentation of different myths such as Indra Jatra, Pieter Both, Le Morne Brabant, Paul et Virginie, Bolom Sounga, Ramayana and Martenitsi were presented. For a short refreshment Itr. Samman Shrestha sang an original of his.
We resumed the session with other wonderful presentations on Myths on Madesi community, Holika Dahan, Curupira, The Princess of Ledang Mountains and Mahabharat. Everyone cooperated wonderfully and gave attention patiently. Then a cultural dance performance was preformed by a 9 yearold Ridhika Bajracharya.
Itr. Unnati Shakya from our BOD handed out the certificates to the guest speakers. Continuing, we had the breakout sessions for the fellowship where we had 4 different rooms and played various games like trivia, five things, truth or dare which were conducted by 4 different volunteers and BOD members together.
Near to the closing a warm vote of thanksA was given by the event was given by the Event Chair, Itr. Aarav Pradhan. Then the emcees signed off by closing our event. Even after closing the event some of the attendees still stayed back and had an informal fellowship session which included interactors from different international clubs and from ICLAS too.
Conclusion: The event was a success and we were able to meet our objective which was to know more about Satyamohan Josi and give him tribute for his contributions.
