Description
Introduction:
One more step is an event meant to provide people with access to self-help services for an easy price compared to the ludicrous prices that travel agencies mark similar services to as well as encourage our interactors to seek adventure and explore the great outdoors. It was a service-oriented event which is why we charged the participants almost 1/4th the price that an organization normally would for a hike. The theme of the project was “Is an adventure worth the price?” and was chaired by Itr. Kavya Kisor Kafle, the IT head for the tenure.
Objectives:
1) Providing self-help services for cheaper price.
2) Encouraging people to seek adventure.
3) Better the relationship between peers and exercising
Project summary:
The event we decided to go with for providing a sense of adventure and wellness of mind in our participants was a hike to a picturesque hillside called Tarebhir situated near Budhanilkantha Kathmandu. In the beginning all the students willing to go gathered up in the premises of Little Angels’ college. We then took two vehicles to our starting point; Jagdoldada hiking starts on Google maps, a head count was done after the members that wished to come on their own had arrived.
There was a short debriefing on the safety instructions to follow while hiking by the Event chair along with what the route would be like. After the first 5 minutes of walking up an extremely steep part of the hike, 2 minutes rest was provided to catch our breaths. The event chair assured us that the route was comparatively like a cakewalk from here on out. We walked for approximately an hour before we reached the top of the hill and had another head count done while the meal was being prepared. After enjoying a jam sandwich and a mildly spicy veg curry, we walked up to a viewing area with bamboo chairs and tables while listening to music in the warm sun for a few minutes. For the next 25 minutes we descended the same way that we had climbed up and after getting on a local vehicle and parting ways with other participants that went on their own, the event was brought to an end.
Feedbacks of attendees:
- Hike could’ve started earlier.
Conclusion:
In terms of achieving the goals set for the event it was a huge success however, managing transportation in the beginning was a bit of a hassle. Through this event the morale of all participants was boosted and prepared for all upcoming events as well as making them aware of how easy it is to go on an adventure for self-fulfillment.
