Description
Introduction:
Osiria was a small fellowship event held for the volunteers in our previous social work projects as a celebration of the success of their hard work. It was a celebratory event as such, we only asked our members to pay for the food we provided at the venue. The theme of the event was “masquerade”.
Objectives:
1. To unwind and relax while celebrating the success of previous events.
Project summary:
The event was held in Hotel Pacific, Kantipath, Kathmandu. The event was said to start at 2 pm and so, the final touch-ups to the venue were done before the program began. The participants slowly started arriving from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm.
Everyone engaged in conversation and clicked pictures in the first 30 minutes of the event. It was officially announced by the Co-chair with a game of bingo after that. The winners of the game of bingo were awarded a dream catcher and a discount coupon for a cafe as the first prize, an artistic pencil bag as the second prize, and a decorated mask
as the third prize.
Music was played and a short dance session began where everyone enjoyed the music and danced with one another. Food was served at 5 pm as a buffet of rice, daal, cauliflower curry, chicken gravy, traditional pickle, papad, and the pastry was prepared by the hotel staff. Once the meal was over we held a short karaoke session playing and singing along to multiple songs requested by the members and the organizing committee.
Conclusion:
The event was semi-successful as the venue was not fully used and all the things planned could not be executed. It also started and ended slightly later than the allocated time for the event. However, the participants enjoyed the event overall which was the main goal.
