Project summary:
Starting on May 15th, RYLA began. The meeting point was selected at Rotary office, Thapathali, Kathmandu. Every participant gathered there between 7:00 and 8:00 and at 9:00 am participants headed to Banepa from there where RYLA was to be held. At one point, all of the participants got off the bus and began to parade while waving RYLA banners as they made their way to the hotel.
After resting in hotel for a little while sessions related different themes started on topics like imagination, Nepal’s currents status on youth’s problems. Participants loved playing games before the day came to a conclusion, and their teams were established with group captains.
The second day of RYLA began with a yoga class. Participants ate their breakfast following the seminar. Each team was assigned a job on a subject such as women in tech after Mrs. Earth Sarisha Shrestha’s lecture on women’s empowerment. Following that, scouts arrived for a lecture and attendees engaged in scout activities. A talent show was held at the end of the day.
A hike was the third day’s first activity. Since it was road safety week that week, a workshop on driving safety was held after the trek. Suharika KC, Mrs. Nepal 2005, then made a brief speech about self- love, confidence, and her journey. Rotarains then came by to talkabout what Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact are. A ceremony to present awards was conducted to conclude day 3. After that, RYLA came to an end, and everyone went home safely.
Conclusion: Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Everyone had a great time throughout the program, learnt a lot, and made new friends. Above all, everyone created wonderful memories they will never forget.
